Hi real life neighbors! I’m Dr. Natasha after the past 3 years of teaching 1,000s of people through online workshops, digital courses and virtual consultations, I’m so excited to be opening a physical space again and returning to in-person, face-to-face, hands-on healing 🤲

I specialize in gentle bodywork and Integrative MindBody Medicine for Sensitive People (and their dogs). My toolbox includes drop table chiropractic care, functional medicine lab testing, nutrition, homeopathy, energy work, cold laser therapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen and so much more! Everything I use in practice has changed my life somehow…so I know exactly how it works and feels in my own sensitive body!

💆‍♀️My human clients are sensitive souls, artists at heart, empaths, introverts, the canaries in a coal mine… and might be struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, vague pain, digestive issues, overwhelmed and a general feeling of disconnect. In my former clinic, I particularly loved holding weekend and weeklong healing retreats for sensitive women (local and international!)

🐶 My dog clients have healed from things ranging from musculoskeletal pain, spinal misalignment, disc issues, limping, paralysis (to walking again!), hesitant to move or do certain activities, seizures, anxiety, skin and gut issues, pregnant mamas, new puppy litters, birth trauma, rescues, service dogs, conformation show dogs, agility dogs, working dogs…you name it…all dogs deserve to heal!

Gluten increases production of zonulin in the gut lining. Increased levels of zonulin leads to leaky gut or intestinal permeability. Enter: headaches, rashes, fatigue, brain fog, diarrhea, etc.

Whenever I’ve been “glutened” (whether it’s an accident or not ) here’s what I do:

💥 Drink plenty of filtered water to help flush the toxins out of my system.
💥 Take an enzyme with DPP IV (dipeptidyl peptidase IV) immediately after.
💥 Get extra rest and limit physical/mental stress.
💥 Eat easy to digest founds like broth, bananas and applesauce for a few days.

Here’s the thing with gluten: it's hard-to-digest AND it blocks your body from absorbing essential nutrients.

So, the short answer: yes, gluten can be working against your health.

The key is knowing which foods contain gluten (even the sneaky ones). Look for gluten in these common foods👇

💢 Grains, like wheat, einkorn wheat, spelt, kamut, rye, barley, durum, semolina, farina, farro
💢 Modified Food Starch
💢 Dextrins
💢 Transglutaminase meat glue + tenderizer
💢 Malt Extract or Malt Vinegar
💢 Brewer’s Yeast
💢 Beer
💢 Alcohol or spirits distilled from gluten-containing grains
💢 Soy Sauce (unless is 100% gluten-free or traditional Temari)
💢 Gluten used in cosmetics or personal care products

Happy Autumn! As Summer comes to a close, I’m so

Happy Autumn! As Summer comes to a close, I’m soaking up all the Summer recipes. One of my favorite Summer sweet treats is this Lemon Gelatina- a light and refreshing dessert!

Here’s what you need:
🍋 1 cup water
🍋 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon gelatin
🍋 1 (13 oz) can full-fat coconut milk
🍋 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
🍋 1/8 teaspoon vanilla
🍋 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
🍋 1 cup lemon juice

Directions:
Follow the instructions on the gelatin to dissolve it into the water. Pour gelatin mixture into a blender and blend. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend. Divide evenly into 5 glasses. Refrigerate until set (2 or more hours). The mixture will magically separate into 2 layers. Enjoy!

Autoimmunity is always caused by an underlying issue or imbalance within the body. Unfortunately, healing can’t truly take place until the root cause is known!

With summer wrapping up and school/work starting again, finding healthy and balanced snacks can be a challenge. But, these Paleo Snack Bites are sure to be a nutrient-dense hit for you AND your family!

Here’s what you need:
🍪 1 cup gluten free, sprouted oats (I love One Degree)
🍪 1 cup coconut flakes, unsweetened
🍪 1/2 cup 100% natural nut/seeed butter (sunflower, almond, or cashew)
🍪 1/3 cup raw honey
🍪 1/4 cup ground flaxseed meal
🍪 2 tbsp chia seeds
🍪 1 teaspoon vanilla
🍪 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Use your hands to form bite-sized snack balls. Place in glass tupperware and store in the fridge.

Toxins are everywhere.

Literally, everywhere.

You can find common toxins in your home, car, office, food, water, air, and more.

This is where detoxification comes into play!

Your detoxification system includes 6 vital organs: liver, gut, kidneys, lungs, lymph, and skin. Through these various organs, the body works to excrete toxins and waste from the body.

But, what happens when these organs get congested and fail to work properly?

Unfortunately, without proper detoxification, toxins begin to build up in the body, leading to chronic illness. Enter: autoimmunity.

Needless to say, healthy detoxification pathways are necessary in the healing (and prevention) of autoimmunity. Also, it’s always wise to limit your exposure to toxins. On a daily basis, be on the lookout for:

Did you know the body is made of 500+ different proteins?!

These proteins are responsible for building organs, muscles, tissues, and bones, which is WHY protein is such a necessary staple in the diet!

In addition to acting as building blocks in the body, protein is also needed for:
🔺 Creating ATP (energy)
🔺 Fighting infections
🔺 Producing hormones
🔺 Repairing muscles
🔺 Transporting nutrients

While everyone has unique nutrient needs, a trusted rule of thumb for protein consumption = consume your body weight in grams daily. For example: if you weigh 120lbs, aim to eat 120g of protein daily!

My favorite sources of protein are: wild-caught salmon, grass-fed steak and beef liver, whole pastured eggs, homemade bone broth, high quality collagen powder, raw nuts and seeds, soaked and sprouted beans and quinoa.

Should you eliminate ALL gluten from your diet? 🥖🍝🍪

If only I had a dollar for every time I’ve been asked this question!

Here’s the 411 on gluten… 👇

Truthfully, most gluten-filled foods are stripped of any nutritional benefit. Meaning, they aren’t the best source of fuel or nourishment.

More importantly, gluten contains phytic acid, an anti-nutrient, which is hard to digest. It's also known for blocking the absorption of essential nutrients, like zinc, leading to nutrient deficiencies!

Even worse, gluten (and dairy) can worsen autoimmune conditions due to a phenomenon called “molecular mimicry”. Gluten’s protein structure is similar to a lot of your own body’s tissues, especially your thyroid. So guess what...every time you eat gluten, your immune system sends out antibodies to attack the gluten and...due to molecular mimicry...the antibodies end up attacking the thyroid as well.

So, if you ask me, my answer is: YES, you should definitely eliminate gluten from your diet, especially if you’re healing an autoimmune condition.

Also, keep in mind.. There are MANY nutrient-dense foods (free from gluten) to choose from. A few of my favorites include: sweet potatoes, organic rice, fruit, and squash!
